Bangladeshi Photographers (BP) is the oldest and leading platform for enthusiastic photographers of Bangladesh. From the beginning of its journey, it has taken several initiatives to promote talents (both home and abroad) who’ve pushed themselves in establishing photography as one of the leading art forms in Bangladesh.
In its latest venture, BP is arranging a photography exhibition to promote young amateur photographers of Bangladesh.
In this exhibition, 60 shots of almost 50 young photographers will be showcased at Chobir Haat, Charukola, from August 13- August 15, 2009.

Bangladeshi Photographers is excited to announce “BP Photo Marathon”, a never ending photography competition, which will recycle every fortnight (15 days). So, you have the opportunity to win twice a month!
Members can post their photographs here throughout the seven days of a fortnight, and the following seven days are for voting. After that,two winners will be announced based on the number of votes received.
Rules for Posting:
- Post photos only up to announced date and according to the theme.
- Give a caption and a serial number to the photo.
- All the members of Bangladeshi Photographers Flickr group (yes, including the admins and moderators) can post photos.
- Each photo should be posted in “Medium” size.
- One member can post one photo only for a particular fortnight.
- Image posting, voting and winner announcement will be done in this same thread. After that, competition will continue in this thread for the next fortnight (15 days).
- Digitally manipulated images are ALLOWED.
Rules for Voting:
- Each competitor must vote for their favorite photo. Each member can cast only one vote (Not 10 votes like Closeup 1!).
- To be eligible as a winner, a member must give vote. don’t vote your own image.
- Members who have not taken part in the competition for a particular fortnight can also cast their vote.
Awards:
Two awards per fortnight:
Pre-paid cards of 50/= taka each. (!!!!WOW!!!!)

Points to note:
- If overseas members win, then we’ll give the prepaid card to someone who is in Bangladesh, on behalf of them. We understand that overseas members won’t get the direct benefit, but someone assigned by them in Bangladesh will certainly enjoy it as a gift!
- Do not post your comments or questions in this contest thread. Post them in relevant Photo Marathon Support thread.
- Only admins and moderators can announce the start/ending date and Theme of a particular fortnight.

Image Bank is a startup stock photography site based in Bangladesh. We are going to be a giant company in stock photography business. We are now looking for photographers who can contribute their best pictures to our Image Bank. Photographers may send anything they like (e.g. landscape, portrait, architectural, building, people, flowers, macro, etc.)
Contributing photographer/s will get 40 – 50% royalty every time on sale of their photography. The payment method will be Bank Cheque or Cash. Our price will vary from picture to picture depending on the merit of each photo. Photography selling price will start from BDT 1000 Taka. Generally for good quality photo price would be higher than 5000 Taka.

Shamudra Gupta is a famous poet, writer and activist in Bangladesh. He is now fighting with life and death in hospital suffering from cancer. In order to raise fund for his treatment, Bangladeshi Photographers and in association with the students of Institute of Fine Arts of Dhaka University has arranged an exhibition at Charukala Institute, where our members have donated our best photography work.

Our judges have finalized their decision for Bangladeshi Photographer of the Year 2007 Photography Contest. This contest was arranged and organized by Bangladeshi Photographers (BP).
This year a great number of entries have been received. It was very difficult to judge and finalize the proper image interpreting the theme “Positive Bangladesh”.
